One special name used by Jesus in reference to the Holy Spirit is “Helper.” Four times in John’s Gospel, Jesus calls the Spirit our “Helper” (John 14:162615:2616:7). In Isaiah 11:2, the Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of Counsel. In this role, the Holy Spirit gives His wisdom to us when we seek God’s will for our lives.

As we study the names of the Holy Spirit, we can better know the One who indwells believers and empowers them to live out the teachings of God’s Word.
