Who Is The Sower and Where Does He Sow?

Who Is The Sower and Where Does He Sow?

There is hard ground that does not receive the Word of God. There are hard places in our heart that reject the Word of God. There are people in our lives that attempt to wrap us in worldly nonsense that chokes out the Word of God from our hearts. There is also a fertile heart that receives the Word of God and the seeds that are planted there grow, multiply and bring fourth beautiful fruit. This fruit has an opportunity to spread, multiply and produce far more fruit.

And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; and when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: and when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: but other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. ~ Matthew 13:3-8 KJB

We don’t have to live the way we have been living. We can reject the world and accept the Lord and live for the Lord. The world has convinced everyone that living for the world is the only way to make a life. This is a lie.

Over the past two weeks there have been a number of people whom we have broken bread together. All of the people have presented themselves as Godly people. Their professions were all primarily in ministry. Some of the people actually used foul language. Some of the people made it quiet clear the Word of God was, on a really good day, second on the list of priorities. Some of the people made it crystal clear that what they do is for the specific purpose of furthering their “career”.

Of the 15-25 people only 1 spoke of advancing the Kingdom, spreading the Kingdom as a primary topic of discussion. Want to hear a terrible statistic… 1 out of 25 people that proclaim, by their mouth, to be men of God, as we broke bread together, hardly even discussed God or the Word of God or spoke in general about the Kingdom. We are talking about approximately 30+ hours of discussion and maybe 15 minutes of the time was spent on Kingdom. This is a sad commentary.

Should we continue to spend, invest, time in these types of situations? Should we continue to discuss secular, worldly, events with people when the Kingdom is calling? How do we make the shift and bring people back to the Word of God in all discussions?

Are not these some of the “things” that keep our heart separated from God? Are these the very topics and situations that are the “way side”, the “stony places” and “among thorns” that bind our heart to the world instead of softening our heart to receive – to receive – the blessings, the promises and the heart of Jesus Christ? How long should we sit among the ruble of these unproductive places before we realize – and accept – the Truth of the matter? What is the purpose of you – yes, you the reader – what is the purpose of you being here? What did you intend to learn today?
