A Random Person – Nobody

A Random Person – Nobody

It is my desire to be no one special, no one to remember but rather just a random person that reflected our Lord’s love and light so that others may see and hear. There is no by-line for these daily devotionals as they are a gift from God and the words are those of the Holy Spirit using these hands to type out the letters.

The goal is to show people, especially the new person, that are lost and attempting to make the changes needed to fill the hole in their life. The hole is there for worship, it is built in and we have no choice in the matter.

I recently learned that we, the human race, are actually built, designed, born with a built-in desire to worship. We can pick whatever we would like to worship and place it in the “worship basket” that is an inherent part of our being. What we can not do is say we will not worship. Too late we already do it. A lot of us put alcohol, gambling, drugs, sex, TV, food and a host of other items in our worship basket in an attempt to fill the hole. At the end of the day, at least for me and a great many people that I met at AA meetings, at church and in a variety of other locations, the items placed in the basket never quiet filled it or seemingly made the hole bigger.

After trying a wide variety of “things” it always comes back to the One, the King of Kings. He can fill the hole and encompass the entire space. As a matter of fact I’ve heard it said, in many AA meetings, that it is in fact a “God shaped hole”. When this hole is filled, properly, we shine, we glow and we love. Others can see and experience this and our randomness begins working. Our nobody self begins impacting others and Jesus takes His rightful place in other peoples lives. It is our love for the Lord that is known, it is our love for others, as we love ourselves, that is experienced.

Mark 12 NKJV

32 So the scribe said to Him, “Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth, for there is one God, and there is no other but He.
33 And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
34 Now when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, He said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” But after that no one dared question Him.
