Dens Which Are In The Mountains…
When the Lord, our God, tells us to do something and we ignore His command should we expect our life to continue down a path of blessings, promises fulfilled or should we expect something quiet different?
If we walk with Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and do our best – sincerely do our best – to follow His commandments of loving God and loving people at all cost, should we our heart and soul to be filled with Light, Strength and Beauty from ashes? Said another way, should we believe blessings and promises will fall upon us or something quiet different?
Well, when doing good in the sight of our Lord it seems situations in life come easier. It seems there is more abundance of everything. It seems that people look different, they don’t seem to be as frightening or as scary. When seeking the guidance of our Lord it seems the path is little easier to tread, the wind a little more calm and the surrounding air a little thinner.

We love helping others and believe that’s one of the reasons we are chosen as Ambassadors of the Kingdom, to serve God’s children. We look to the Greatest Commandment as our Powering force.
No it’s not always this way, but it sure seems things go a little easier when following the guidance and direction given by the Lord than when moving about following free will.
If we look at Gideon, as we often do, we see exactly this scenario play out.
And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years. And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made them the dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds. And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them; and they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till thou come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass. ~ Judges 6:1-4 KJB
That’s a very clear picture. But what does it mean to our lives?
When we walk in addiction or we begin serving another god, we find ourselves alone with our addiction or spending all our time with the false god we have built for ourselves. We find that other people are reluctant to come around as we usually send them away. We find our false god is way more demanding than Our Father in Heaven. We find our false god wants as much our time and thought life as possible. We happily oblige this demand. Before we know what has happened we find ourselves in a very dark place with, what appears, no way out.
Well there is a way out and we already know what it is. Prayer, seeking, asking and knocking – FIRST – upon the door of Christ’ wisdom, love and strength. He, Jesus Christ, will walk us out of the dark and back into the Light. It’s simple, but sometimes, not easy. Sometimes we need another person to help us walk out of the dark.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
