That I May Dwell Among Them…

God is always moving. God is never silent nor is He sitting idle in our lives. God is constantly moving pieces into place that change our lives and, for those that are moving closer to God on a regular daily basis, God is making way a clear path to carry His message to our brothers and sisters in Christ. Even when it appears in our sight that God is sitting idle, God is moving.

And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it. ~ Exodus 25:8-9 KJB

God is speaking with Moses and explaining what the Israelites shall do to honor God. What items for an offering to God are acceptable and in doing so God will be in their presence in the tabernacle. The Israelites are unaware of that God is moving in the background of their life. The Israelites are suppose to be keeping their eye on God, honoring God as best they can and keeping watch for God to move in their lives. The Israelites, like a lot of Gods children today, were busy making other idols, celebrating a victory of their favorite gladiator or committing sin in the life at one level or another. God moving in their life was not on their mind nor in their hearts.

How much richer is life when we wait on God? How much more filling is life when we work for God?

The quiet moments in life can be some of the best spent, most productive time we will spend in our lives. Sitting in the presence of God, listening for His voice, for His direction will make our day all the more satisfying and all the more worthwhile. When we obey God’s voice, God’s direction there is no amount of payment that will compensate our labor. There is no offering that will satisfy our soul the same way working for God satisfies. It is impossible for payment to be made that compensates our labor for God.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
