Get Wisdom, Get Understanding…

As a youth it seems many people have encounters with the Lord. After speaking with a great many people over the past year there has been an almost 100% sharing of an encounter with the Lord, Jesus Christ, while young in age. The men that have shared this have done so in confidence and with the understanding their anonymity would be preserved, therefore, allowing them to speak freely.

Jesus Christ wanted the little children to be brought to Him and it seems that if they are not brought to Him, He simply appears to them either through visions and dreams or through instruction. Society, or so it seems, then in turn spends a lot of time beating this still small voice out of us. Once again, almost 100% of the men who discussed their encounters with the Lord have another shared aspect of their life – falling away. Broken to the point of being imprisoned, living completely separate lives from Jesus Christ and suffering through addictive, compulsive behaviors. Usually drugs, hard drugs, and alcohol.

We were never instructed to follow that still small voice that came to us. We were never encouraged, by our parents, by society nor by the school to dig deeper into the dreams, visions and instructions we received. No, most of us were told to ignore them, that we were being silly or some other nonsense that makes no sense.

What would have happened had we been encouraged to dive deeper? What would have happened to our society had we…

Get wisdom, get understanding:
Forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee:
Love her, and she shall keep thee.
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom:
And with all thy getting get understanding. ~ Proverbs 4:5-7 KJB

Where would all these men, more than a couple dozen, be today had we simply been encouraged to get wisdom, get understanding and forget it not? WOW!

Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” And He laid His hands on them and departed from there. ~ Matthew 19:13-15 NKJB

When society forbid the little children to hear the voice of God and see the visions, from God, placed in their heart, society is doing the work of the evil one. By planting seeds of doubt in the little children society is making the little children to turn away from Jesus Christ.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
