Go Thou And Preach The Kingdom of God…

It is in our passing that we live. It is when the bottom of our life meets us face-to-face that we should become new. How can we change if we do not change? What does it take to become a new creature? We must be baptized into the name of Jesus Christ and we must be born again in the Spirit.

We must admit that our lives are unmanageable and that we have no Power. We must first seek Power that can restore us. We must turn over our lives and seek first the will of God. This leads to repentance. Removing the unclean spirits that are lodged in our hearts, consuming our mind and stealing our strength. Our souls become rotten under this type of attack. We can not sustain this life very long. Without the Love, the Living Water and Bread of Jesus Christ our lives will not change.

“God just doesn’t throw a life preserver to a drowning person. He goes to the bottom of the sea, and pulls a corpse from the bottom of the sea, takes him up on the bank, breathes into him the breath of life and makes him alive.” ~ R.C. Sproul

Jesus Christ comes down off the mountain to find us, to save us from ourselves. To bring us, wretched ones, out of the valley and give us life. We needn’t turn our backs to Him, to commit sin, for He is with us, He is for us and He will never leave us. Jesus demands we do the same for Him. Neve leave Him.

And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. ~ Luke 9:59-62 KJB

Those around us who do not listen, who do not accept are not our charge. We deliver a Testimony of Jesus Christ in our lives to others and if they accept it we should baptism them. If they do not accept it we should shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them. They are now wondering the wilderness and if they turn around and see Jesus behind them, we will rejoice.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
