He Went Out Into A Mountain To Pray…

Do we need to remove ourselves from all that is happening around us, during our day, when we need to pray? Did Jesus not remove Himself from everything and everyone in order to draw nearer to the Father? Yes, yes He did every single time He prayed. We all have our time of day when we can breakaway from all others, to find quiet to hear the still small voice. We need to make it a priority to do so every day.

And it came to pass in those days, that He went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. ~ Luke 6:12

The early morning works great for prayer. We should all greet the day with praise in our heart, prayers of supplication and thanksgiving on our tongue and worship of our Lord, Jesus Christ in our ears. The table is set, let the feast begin.

Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ, as we come before You we lift Your name over our lives for all the world to see. We humbly thank You for renewing our mercies every morning as we know where we would be without the Loving Guidance of the Living Word in Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

Making time to draw near to our Savior is one of the most important parts of our days. It is easy to do when the world is quiet and the hustle and bustle have not arrived. It becomes more of a challenge, not to mention far more necessary, when the hustle and bustle show up in full force. When our mind, our heart, our soul and our strength are stretched to the very limit of capacity. This is when stepping back, giving God a moment and coming to Jesus Christ will turn everything from evil to good in an instant.

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. ~ Luke 6:45 KJB

More time spent drawing near to our Father, seeking the Living Word of Jesus Christ and allowing the Holy Spirit to speak means our days are, usually less stressful, usually more giving and usually more fulfilling. The more we give in the name of Jesus Christ, the more He pours out into our lives. The more good treasure we share with others means far less time seeing, speaking or being part of any evil treasure.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
