Seeking The One Truth…

Seeking The One Truth…

When do we begin to stand up for the True Gospel? When do we deliver the Gospel as the Word and breathe of God?

The “prosperity” ministers, that are saturating the airwaves and filling church pews at an alarming rate, only see Jesus, the Holy Spirit and God as an ATM or a currency transfer app on their phone. Where are the leepers? Where are the sick, the addicts and the murderers? Is everybody in the church building living the beautiful life? WOW!

We want our coffee in the lobby
We watch our worship on a screen
We got a rock-star preacher
Who won’t wake us from our dreams
We want our blessings in our pockets
We keep our missions overseas
But for the hurting in our cities
Would we even cross the street? ~Start Right Here, Casting Crowns

Every time this songs comes on the radio it stands as a reminder of what is happening in most of the so-called “mega-churches” and in church buildings, of every size, all across the land. The same message, all-woked-up and pushing a narrative that is border-line blasphemy. Everyone wants salvation and redemption without the cross, the suffering, the confession and repentance. It’s akin to a college graduate with a BS in “gender studies” or “art history” demanding a $100,000-a-year paying job at whatever company THEY choose!!

The Apostle Paul will always set things straight.

We learn from 2 Timothy the time we are currently living was expected. It is another sign of the unfolding “end of days”. We do not claim the “end times” are upon us, we are merely saying the signs, as described in the Holy Bible are beginning to point in a particular direction.

I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. ~II Timothy 4:1-5 NKJB

For those that still believe their pastor shouldn’t be vetted on an ongoing basis, please re-read what Paul said. We are all subject to the sin of our flesh.

Either the Gospel is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
