For all those folks working at home, or the millions of unemployed, living off of not-ready-to-eat food, such as Nestlé’s ubiquitous Hot Pockets, listen up: the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) published a warning late last week recalling millions of pepperoni Hot Pockets over concerns they may be contaminated with foreign objects.

Approximately 762,615 pounds of pepperoni Hot Pockets product “may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically pieces of glass and hard plastic,” FSIS wrote.

The recall applies to 54-ounce 12 packs of pepperoni Hot Pockets with a best by February 2022. The hot pockets in question were produced from Nov. 13 to 16.

According to FSIS, the recall is considered a “Class I,” which means, as described by the food agency, “this is a health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.”

Four customer complaints have already materialized due to foreign objects in pepperoni Hot Pockets.
