Jonathan Cahn Announces National and Global Day of Prayer and Repentance: 26 September 2020 from Worthy News

Jonathan Cahn, author of The Harbinger and many other bestsellers has launched The Return: a national and global movement of prayer and repentance culminating in Washington DC on September 26, 40 days before the presidential election. “America is in deep, deep trouble,” Cahn told CBN News. “The Return is a chance for America, 40 days prior to our next election, to turn back to God, just like Nineveh.”

Announcing the call to prayer in a letter on The Return website, Cahn and co-chairman Kevin Jessip, president of the Global Strategic Alliance wrote: “The Return is for all believers who love the Lord from all denominations and backgrounds, black, white, Spanish, Asian, men, women, youth, children, Jew and Gentile, everyone.” The live September 26 event will take place at the National Mall in Washington DC and will be streamed around the world.

In their website letter, Cahn and Jessip said churches filled up for a time after 9/11 but nothing actually changed: “It looked as if there could have been a spiritual revival and awakening,” they said. “But it never came. Because there was no repentance, no turning back to God, no changing of course…without repentance, there can be no revival.”

Therefore, Cahn and Jessip, said: “America fell even farther, spiritually, morally, away from God.” In a separate communication with CBN News, Cahn and Jessip added: “Our prayer is that our nation will return to the values and the principles upon which this nation was founded…We have been warned. God in His mercy has afforded us a time of reprieve to turn and repent for our land to be spared from destruction. It’s a Nineveh moment!”

“Without revival, there can be no hope,” said Cahn, “and without repentance there can be no revival. I believe we are standing at a critical moment, spiritually, culturally, politically, generationally, and almost every other way. And I believe as we come to September and the autumn months it will become even more critical. If we do not now rise to the call, we may never have the chance to do so again.

“Even on the biblical calendar, the time is pivotal. The Return focuses on the Ten Days of Awe and Repentance beginning with the Feast of Trumpets and ending with the Day of Atonement. This is the time period given on the ancient calendar for prayer and repentance, returning to God. Then, just before the end of these ten days will come The Return on Saturday, September 26.
