Breathe In The Word….

As we go through our days we read things, incredible things, mysterious things and things we’d rather not read. Words on a page, or on a screen, are one thing, but what about the living, breathing Word of God? When we listen do we breathe these Words in? When we read His words are we actually taking in the breath of God? Do these Words breathe life into our heart, mind and soul or are they merely words on a page or on a screen?

Interacting with other people is what creates a community. The tyranny of isolation, that we have rolled over and accepted, breaks a community into fragments that will take some time to rebuild. How much time is the great unknown. Will community, the trust of community, ever return?

During the past 60+ days of accepted tyrannical isolation what has happened in our lives to bring us closer to God? Do we listen to and for His word more, do we pray more or have we simply binged another series on TV?

Drawing nearer to God, through our relationship with Jesus Christ and our walk with the Holy Spirit, we should be feeling stronger than ever, more relaxed and way, way, way less fearful. When the cage door opens and the prisoners walk outside for the first time will the walls go with them or will they breathe the free air provided by God? Will the Living Word of Jesus Christ be the path upon which they walk? Will the walls of fear and shackles of distrust keep them in bondage as if they were sitting on their couch?

I Peter 2 NKJV

1 Therefore laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking,
2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,
3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

Just breathe.
