A True Ministry
Most believers and non-believers have heard or experienced some type of story about a minister who mistreated his flock. Currently, there are a great many ministers that are believers and non-believers alike have questions about their ministry. Mostly the questions about their fame and fortune. Jesus was humble and stated quiet clearly that we are to remain humble. Why wouldn’t this apply to the minister of a church? As Paul demonstrates, and explains, it most certainly does apply to ministers and their ministry. No one should expect riches because of their ministry. No one should expect wealth because they are a follower of Christ Jesus. He is our Lord, not our ATM.
Why would we accept or expect anything less than that what the Bible teaches from anyone who claims to carry the Word? Who claims to deliver the Word? Paul states he is willing, and then demonstrates, to give his own life for the Gospel – to deliver the Gospel to a broken, desperate world. That should be the measure of a great minister, not the number of homes, the size of the building they preach within or the number of songs the worship team produces.
Our world today is not only desperate to hear the words Paul wrote so many years ago, but more importantly, to see, understand and experience Paul’s ministry through people who are willing to carry the Word and deliver the Word – the Gospel of Jesus Christ – for no other reason than to get closer to God and show others how they, too, can do the same.

I Thessalonians 2 NKJV
3 For our exhortation did not come from error or uncleanness, nor was it in deceit.
4 But as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who tests our hearts.
5 For neither at any time did we use flattering words, as you know, nor a cloak for covetousness— God is witness
6 Nor did we seek glory from men, either from you or from others, when we might have made demands as apostles of Christ
7 But we were gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her own children.
8 So, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us.
9 For you remember, brethren, our labor and toil; for laboring night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.
