Be Not Affrighted…

Be Not Affrighted…

And the lies I once believed, they crumble
With the weight of Your Truth
And the fear that gripped my heart, is arrested
So that I can see You
~ Prophesy Your Promise / Bryan & Katie Torwalt

When we turn from fear and look to hope, we find our resurrected King, Jesus Christ, Emmanuel, God with us. As it is written, If God is for us, who can be against us? When we see the glimmering edge of the broken glass instead of the shattered pieces we see the Beauty of God.

Our King, our Savior Lord Jesus, who is the First Born came here to save us from ourselves, to save us from our sin. When God looks at us He sees His one and only Son. When God looks at us through the atonement of Jesus Christ what God sees is His perfect, holy and anointed child. God sees the glimmering edge of the glass instead of the shattered pieces.

He is risen to steal death from the devil. Jesus Christ holds the keys of life. Who can be against us, what weapon formed against us can stand?

We scare easily. Fear may be the greatest weapon of satan. Look at our response in 2020/2021 to a virus called corona. We allowed demons, called politicians, to dictate every single aspect of our life. We lost sight of our God. The good news is a great many people are awakening to see God has been standing at their side their whole life. The believers that stand firm should help them as they reenter the fold.

And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. ~ Mark 16:5-6 KJB

We should not fear, especially in our search to meet the resurrected King. We should not fear as we climb out of the darkness that has surrounded our lives for so long. We should celebrate as Jesus goes before us to meet us in our part towards Him.

But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you. ~ Mark 16:7 KJB

Walking in the beauty of God means satan is none to happy with us. Satan comes to realize he is about lose one of the souls he had captured but now he sees slipping away. He will fight, he will attack on all fronts our goodness. He will create doubt and place images, words, smells and songs in our path to corrupt our mind, our heart and our soul. He will do all he can to steal the strength of Jesus Christ from our hands.

And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. ~ Mark 16:11 KJB

We rarely believe the goodness that happens in our lives, even if it is, literally, standing before us, but readily accept the negative, ugly and fear-based thoughts, images and phrases that pop into our head.

“There’s a saying: When the devil ignores you, then you know you’re doing something wrong. The devil goes, ‘Oh, no, leave him alone. He’s my favorite.'” “Conversely, when the devil comes at you, maybe it’s because you’re trying to do something right. And for whatever reason, the devil got ahold of him that night.” ~ Denzel Washington

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
