Those Who Are Of Faith…

Those Who Are Of Faith…

How do we come to faith in Jesus Christ? How do we, individually, reach a point of turning our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understand God? If we know nothing, or very little, of God how can we be saved and turn away from the life we had been living in sin?

Is faith not learned? Is faith not something that another believer delivers to us? We know stealing is wrong because of the law. The law of God teaches us this and the law of man teaches us this in the physical. We are not to kill our neighbor, we know this because of the law of God and, once again, the law of man teaches us this in the physical.

If we know stuff, like the difference between right and wrong then there must be more to faith. There must be something far more important than right and wrong.

Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?—just as Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” ~ Galatians 3:5-6 NKJB

We learn faith from witnesses. We learn faith, and meet Jesus Christ, when another person introduces us to faith and to Jesus Christ, Emmanuel, God with us. Can we meet Jesus Christ of our own accord? Sure. The difference is hearing from one of our brothers or sisters in Christ what happened to them is one of the most powerful stories we will hear in our life time. When we hear how the Holy Spirit moved through another and brought them to the Son of God it has an impact like no other.

Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, “In you all the nations shall be blessed.” So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. ~ Galatians 3:7-9 NKJB

We come to know our Savior, our Lord and the King of kings through the witnessing of what has come before us. Yes, we can come to faith of our own accord, but it lacks the power of having a witness walk with us as we meet the Son of God in our heart, in our soul, in our strength and in our mind. It becomes an all consuming encounter when 2 or 3 are gathered in the name of Jesus Christ to witness with another.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
