The seemingly insurmountable problem is how to climb out of the desert up to this oasis!
Life is like that for many spiritually thirsty souls today. People wander around lost — burdened by problems with their marriages, children, finances or jobs — and suffering with arthritis, cancer, disease or depression.
They are crying out, “If only we could get out of the desert to reach that wonderful, life-giving water!”
Now, God lives in heaven, where there are no crutches, allergies or diseases … no sorrow, misery, violence or war.
Knowing we are incapable of reaching Him on our own, God made a path — in the person of His Son!
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Me,” said Jesus. “If you had known Who I am, then you would have known Who My Father is. From now on you know Him and have seen Him!” (John 14:6b-7).
Jesus was saying, if you want to see God, look at Me! And He promises, “Anyone who believes in Me already has eternal life. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness” (John 6:47b, 10:10b).
