After This Manner Therefore Pray Ye…

Jesus said “follow me and I will make you to become…

When we pray to God, through the name of Jesus Christ, is the “Lord’s Prayer”, the model prayer, appropriate to pray or should we use it as our guide?

Jesus actually explains what prayer is about, what it is not about and goes on to explain all the details of what we, Gospel News Network, believe to be the greatest tool He gave us, which is prayer. This, in our opinion, is one of the greatest ways we can follow Jesus. The Words of Jesus Christ are very, very detailed regarding how we are to pray, where we are to pray and what happens when we pray “in this manner“. If we use His model, everyday, for a month what does one think will happen? If the “model” is used and we develop several prayers of our own, based on His “model” would our lives change? Would our outlook on every aspect of life change? We are going with yes…yes every aspect of ones life would change in very dramatic fashion.

And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. ~ Matthew 6:6-8 KJB

It sounds like we are to use the “model”, not the words that Jesus Christ used. Is it the “Lords Prayer” or is it the model of prayer the Lord gave us?

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. ~ Matthew 6:9-13 KJB

Heavenly Father, God Almighty.
We lift Your name, the name of Jesus Christ, over our lives for all to see
Father God, we seek, first, Your Wisdom and ask Your guidance and Your direction in all our activities
Let Your will be done that You, God Almighty, may keep us on the narrow path
Strengthen us that we may speak Your Word, that we may remain in Your Word throughout this day
Strengthen us, Father God, that we may forgive others as You have so mercifully forgiven us
Father God, in the name of Jesus Christ, soften our heart that we may see Your children in every eye we encounter
Forge us through Your ways that we would sing Your praises, give You all honor and glory in this day and all the days to come.
In Jesus Christ loving name we pray. Amen

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
