He May Abide With You Forever…

For the most part, we don’t believe in Jesus Christ for if we did we would understand, accept and walk in His power. The Power that Jesus Christ brings to our life is immeasurable. It is without end. Do we believe and accept this Truth? If we do, we sure have a funny way of showing it.

When a loved one gets sick and some random person, called a doctor, tells us our loved one is going to die why would we ever accept that piece of information on face? Why would we not begin, immediately, praying over them, laying hands and asking others to join in? Is that not what we are commanded to do? Is that not how we bring forth the Holy Spirit who is our Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby, Comforter? Do we believe this is who Jesus Christ told us He was leaving to live IN US forever?

The first thing we must accept on face and as absolute Truth is that Jesus Christ has all the Power of God.

Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake. ~ John 14:10-11 KJB

Once we actually accept and believe this in the deepest part of our being, the deepest part of our soul, then we can move to the next level of actually believing in Jesus Christ.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. ~ John 14:12-14 KJB

Once this is established in our soul and we walk in this manner we can then begin to believe all things coming from Jesus Christ. We then have an opportunity to tell the world, show the world and walk in His power and glory. We can give Jesus Christ all honor, all glory and all praise for it is He that do all things in us. It is Jesus Christ that delivered the Comforter and the Spirit of Truth to us to live with us forever.

If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. ~ John 14:15-17 KJB

It’s not complicated. It’s simple but not easy. Keeping the commandments of Jesus Christ, the Greatest Commandment, is the challenge we face on an hourly, daily basis. When we walk in the love of  God, in the name of Jesus Christ, with all our heart, all our soul, all our mind and all our strength and love our neighbor as ourself we are walking in His Truth, we are, in fact, keeping His commandments.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
