Worship Him In Spirit And In Truth…

Where does Jesus meet us? Where does Jesus Christ, Immanuel, come to us to offer His Living Water to quench our thirst? Is it on a bright sunshiny day when all is going well and our life is Facebook or Instagram perfect? Does Immanuel, God with us, draw us near to Him when we are continually working His plans for our life? Is this the moment He first greets us? Not usually.

Jesus Christ, Immanuel, usually greets us and draws us near to Him when we are at our bottom. When our life has fallen apart. It may not appear that our life is a mess but it is. It may not seem like, outwardly, that we are broken, we have a hard time sleeping or our family is on the brink of disaster, but He sees it. No one may see it, but Jesus sees what, specifically, is happening. Jesus sees all the details that we don’t share with others and then He brings them forth in order for us to confess / repent, heal and come under the atonement of His sacrifice for us.

Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither. The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband: for thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly. ~ John 4:16-18 KJB

Jesus did not greet the woman at the well with good tidings, but met her in her deepest pain. The brokenness that keeps her in shame, fear and self-loathing. The same pain that a lot of us walk in. The same pain that brings us to our knees and we cry out to Jesus Christ to make it stop. We beg for mercy. We let down our guard and humble ourselves in a way that we never dreamed possible. We seek, first, the Living Water of Jesus Christ to quench our thirst for life.

Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. ~ John 4:13-14 KJB

This Water, the Living Water of Jesus Christ springs forth in us through the fount that is His love for us. It originates nowhere else. There is no place on earth that one will find this spring, but it can be located right where we stand, in any person, anywhere on this earth. The Well Spring of Living Water has always been there, it is there now.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he. ~ John 4:24-26 KJB

God be with you at all times.

It is when our heart is hardest that a mustard seed of faith brings us to call on the Living God to save us. God, in the name of Jesus Christ, is always there. When we worship Him in spirit and in truth He appears before us. Jesus will not speak to us in the false, He is unable to speak to the false, but when we speak truth – “I’m in pain” “I’m lostI’m broken” Jesus will speak directly to us.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
