Things Concerning The Kingdom Of God…

Things Concerning The Kingdom Of God…

Are we true in our faith? Does God stand in witness to our faith, our praise, the glory we shower Him and our servitude of Him and His children? Would God do that for us?

When we reach out to God on a level that we only reach a handful of times during our life does God respond? Of course He responds. What about doing that all the time? How do we reach out to God from a point of desperation on Tuesday? Is it possible? Does our prayer life hold the key, our church life, our study of the Holy Bible or is there another way we can have that absolute moment of desire for God to be with us that we can hold onto everyday of our life?

If we look at the Acts of the Apostles we find the Apostles walking in close contact with God in every step they take. There are hardly any moments throughout the entire 28 Chapters where one of these men is not walking with, talking with, praying to or showing favor to one of God’s children. Can we have that in our lives? Do we want that in our lives?

Just by reading, for example, in Chapter 8, we find Philip and John moving through Samaria healing people, casting out unclean spirits and sharing the Gospel from one statement to the next the whole way through the chapter. There is no time in which one or more of the Apostles is not in very close contact with Jesus Christ.

The chapter opens with Saul, who would be transformed to Paul, rounding up the people of The Way while Philip is busy preaching the Gospel…

Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. ~ Acts 8:5 KjB

As Philip is preaching, with Saul searching for him, there is a wizard, a sorcerer named Simon who is tricking the people into believing he is doing the works of a god. When Philip baptizes the people even the wizard wants to be baptized.

But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. ~ Acts8:12-13 KJB

It goes on like this for the remainder of the chapter. Constant movement. Forever doing God’s work with each step. Is this how we stay in the moment with Jesus Christ by continually being in the moment with Jesus Christ? Yeah, sounds like that would make it possible.

What about those of us that can’t do that – how do we stay in close contact? Something like this might help, it might not, but no one will know unless it is tried.

– pray multiple times a day – pray without ceasing
– seek, first, the guidance of Jesus Christ in every decision
– ask, first, for direction from Jesus Christ in every decision
– knock, first, upon the door of wisdom, the Mind of Christ

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
