Desires Of The Flesh and Of The Mind…

Desires Of The Flesh and Of The Mind…

Bad dreams flood the mind, infiltrate the heart and eat away at the soul. The mind begins to wander, doubt takes control as fear rides shotgun. Hope takes a hike, as the bad dream morphs into a nightmare recalling days gone past or showing us a future that never will be. Either way, it is a dream that engulfs us and does it’s level best to steal our joy. Praying for others doesn’t even help.

And you hath he quickened [He made alive], who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein in time past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience: among whom also we all had our conversation [conducted ourselves] in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. ~ Ephesians 2:1-3 KJB

When Jesus tracks us down, pulls us from the fire and puts our feet on solid rock He doesn’t show us this depth of Love for us to fail. Just because Jesus stands us on solid rock doesn’t mean it will be an easy journey. Patience are required. Faith is required. Continuing to follow His lead is required.

No, He’s not sitting there shaking His head
Writing you off, leaving you lost
He’s not sitting there shaking His head
Wishing He’d never went to that cross ~ Heart of God / Zach Williams

Yes, the path may begin in pastures of soft and green grass, but we may have to walk a while; we may encounter deserts and rocky mountains. It doesn’t mean we toss our faith aside. It doesn’t mean we abandon our journey and it most certainly doesn’t mean we turn our back on our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It means we polish our Whole Armor of God and push forward until the mountains move and Living Water flows through the desert once again.

After polishing our Whole Armor, getting all the pieces adjusted and back in place, we pick up our bed and head back into battle knowing the Victory is won.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
