The Lips of The Righteous Feed Many…

The most wicked part of the body is the tongue. The tongue can build homes filled with love and joy or tear down whole communities, cities or, even, nations. The tongue can worship God and sing praise to the heavens it can also speak blasphemies previously unknown. Where is the mind? Where is the heart? Are they set right or are they filled with wickedness?

He that hides hatred with lying lips,
And he that utters a slander, is a fool.
In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin:
But he that refrains his lips is wise.
The tongue of the just is as choice silver:
The heart of the wicked is little worth.
The lips of the righteous feed many:
But fools die for want of wisdom. ~ Proverbs 10:18-21 KJB

Getting our tongue under control is one of our greatest challenges. It can slash the heart of our spouse before anyone knows what happened. It can do this just as easily as it can describe her endless abounding beauty and how her presence fills those around her with calm, warmth and love. The tongue is a two-edged sword. How will it be used today?

The wisdom of the Lord determines how our tongue behaves. Is our mind bound to the Mind of Christ? Is our heart chasing after the love of Jesus Christ? When our mind is a slave to the King of kings we will serve those around us, leaving no room, nor time, for our tongue to wonder off finding direction elsewhere. Servitude helps to bind our mind with the Mind of Christ creating a circle of faith, hope and love.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
