Be Clothed With Humility…

Be Clothed With Humility…

A fatherless nation has no direction. A fatherless nation shows no respect, knows not humility and only fears death while having no concept regarding fear of the Lord.

Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for
“God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.” ~ 1 Peter 5:6 NKJB

Those who made it through a misspent youth, but managed to come Home to the Lord, already know the importance of having a true head of household, a dad who could “right-the-ship” and offer an appropriate discipline when the line was crossed. Those of us who knew not of this either didn’t make back Home or are continuing to suffer under the heavy chains of an enslaved heart, mind and soul.

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. ~ 1 Peter 5:6-8 NKJB

As we grow older and put away our youthful ideas, actions and words, it becomes possible to turn back to the Lord, Jesus Christ, as we humble ourselves from a life of fleshly sin. Seeing the wreckage in the rearview mirror of our life becomes difficult to see, but as we look closer, deeper and draw upon the Wisdom of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit begins to reveal the beauty of God among the shattered fragments. The wreckage, what the devil meant for evil, begins to morph as the Lord, our God, begins using it for good. Revealing all the beauty of God in every situation of our life. Everything we had written off as “the worst day of my life” becomes another jewel in the Crown of a Loving, Forgiving God of mercy and grace.

Once we see the beauty of God in one situation we long for more. As we seek, we find. As we ask, more is revealed and as we knock upon the door, it is opened revealing all that was previously hidden.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. ~ 1 Peter 5:8-10 NKJB

We are not Fatherless. We not have been raised with our dad providing guidance, but we were never, not even for one second, Fatherless. He, God Almighty, was always there. He is still with us today and will be with us tomorrow. His one and only Son, Jesus Christ lives on in us and the gift of the Holy Spirit becomes our Comforter and Counselor that speaks using our tongue and builds greatness as He is our hands.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
