What Shall A Man Give In Exchange…

What does it mean to take up your cross and follow Jesus Christ?

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. ~ Matthew 16:25 KJB

What are we willing to lose to follow Jesus Christ? What are we willing to let-go to follow Jesus Christ?

It is not uncommon to see wealthy benefactors in the buildings called church that give generously to support a Pastor and the work the Pastor is doing. Does this make the wealthy benefactor more Godly than the others congregates?

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? ~ Matthew 16:26 KJB

Do we give it all to a Pastor in the building called church or do we, as Jesus Christ told the rich young ruler, give it to the poor? Are Pastor’s poor or are the people living on the streets poor? Are the people staying in homeless shelters poor, rehab houses, senior centers, orphans, single parents? Who exactly are the poor that Jesus Christ was talking about?

Everyday we should be in the streets, we should be in the homeless shelters, the rehab centers and senior centers, hospitals and a variety of other places spreading the Word of God. We are not, said with confidence as there is a witness to these situations that does not see others. Why is that? What do we need to do to carry our cross, not Jesus’ cross, but our cross to give sacrifice ourselves for others. To sacrifice our time to spend with God’s children to share His Word, His Light, His Truth and His Strength with His children.

Time is running short and if anyone is paying attention to what the evil one is doing in this world, at this time, then it can be easily seen that time is running short. We need to ring the alarm and help share the Gospel with as many of our brothers and sisters in Christ as possible. There are billions of people dying to hear the Word. Can we not carry it to them? Can we not get out of our comfort zone, the building called church and get into the streets to share the Word with those desperate to hear?

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
