Present Your Bodies A Living Sacrifice…

If we make our bodies a living sacrifice to God we are, in fact, giving up all rights to our body. We are turning our physical body over to Jesus Christ for Him to do as He wishes. If it is by the mercy of God this sacrifice is acceptable we can transform our lives by the renewing of our mind. As we renew our mind, with our thoughts and actions towards God alone, we will prove that God’s will is the way for a life well lived.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. ~ Romans 12:1-2 KJB

When we think of others instead of ourselves we are putting God first. When we do for others instead of ourselves we are doing for God first. When we love all others, when we love unconditionally our enemies we are putting God first. We are walking the identity that Christ has assigned us, not the self-identity, but rather our Christ identity. We are no longer walking in darkness but rather have the Light of the World shining through our heart. We are the walking, talking, breathing will of God.

Loving our enemies, unconditionally, is how we overcome; it is how we transform our mind that proves the perfect, good and acceptable will of God. It is how we renew our lives.

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. ~ Romans 12:19-21 KJB

It is impossible to make it any clearer than how Paul has spelled it out. We love God and love others as ourselves and let God do His part so that we may do our part.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
