Striving After Wind…

Striving After Wind…

The wise man’s eyes are in his head, but the fool walks in darkness. And yet I know that one fate befalls them both. ~ Ecclesiastes 2:14 NASB95

The wise man and the fool have the same issue. Both of them will return to the earth at some point. They both will perish. The same is true of the wealthy and the impoverished. We what we know and what we have become 100% meaningless when we are faced with our demise. Who is our Leader? Who are we following? How deep a relationship with Jesus Christ is our life? This is meaningful “when the chips are down”. When all else fails, what do we have?

Anyone that has put faith or trust in another human being already knows and should understand completely the fallibility of we humans. We are broken, we disappoint, we hurt others and we are an undisciplined being. Some of us are down-right cruel.

We don’t have to be any of these things. It is our pride and ego that makes us into what is described above. We think we know something… we don’t. We think we possess something… we don’t. We either have a deep, meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ or we don’t. It’s really that simple.

For to a person who is good in His sight He has given wisdom and knowledge and joy, while to the sinner He has given the task of gathering and collecting so that he may give to one who is good in God’s sight. This too is vanity and striving after wind. ~ Ecclesiastes 2:26 NASB95

At the end of the day, at the end of our life, the only thing that matters is wether we have taken time to develop a relationship, a meaningful relationship, with God. Did God direct our life? Was God our supreme counsel? Did we follow His voice, His Word? If there is something more important than this please let me know – info@gospelnewsnetwork.org

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of God, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
