Intents of the Heart…

Intents of the Heart…

Falling is easy, but staying in love is hard
Hard to be honest and keep our heart open
To be who we truly are
Without the excuses, without the façade
There’s no pretending
Here in Your love

Oh, Lord set me… free
Oh, Lord set me… free ~Sails, by Pat Barrett

When we think or believe we are “hiding” from Jesus we are, in fact, simply kicking sand in His face and turning our back on Him. Jesus doesn’t leave us, we leave Him. We move away from Him, not vice-versa.

Jesus sees us, especially, when we are alone with our thoughts, with ourselves and no one is around – He is there. Jesus is sitting beside us to comfort us, guide us through these times when the devil is most active. The devil is most active when we step into the room where everyone has departed.

Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. ~ Hebrews 4:11-13 NKJB

To be righteous in the sight of our Beloved Jesus. To be with Him, Jesus Christ, every moment and not allow the devil to enter our mind, our heart and begin his course of destruction through our body. It only takes a small pin-hole, a slight crack in the Armor, cinch in the Armor and he makes his move. This is when we have a decision to turn dark or turn to the Light of the World. Let us be diligent to enter His rest.

It is when we take our eyes off Jesus, for a split, second that we, like Peter, we begin to sink into the abyss. It is only by turning our eyes, heart, thoughts back to Jesus Christ that He will happily, and without hesitation, grab our hand to pull us out of self-made nightmare.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
