Life and Peace…

Life and Peace…

As we look to our Father, the Son of God and embrace the Holy Spirit we come to life. When we turn from them, even for a split second, we begin to sink. Just ask Simon, would be called Peter, for a better understanding.

Walking in the Spirit, focused on the Spirit brings about a completely different view of life. We see people, we see situations and we see this world from a completely different angle. We no longer wish to foist blame on others, we no longer wish to hurl insults, we reign in our wonder eyes and ask for strength to lasso that errant member, the tongue.

Love becomes a guiding force. We more easily accept the fact that we are nothing more than an Ambassador of the Kingdom while living out our short visit in this foreign land. Wealth is no longer something we strive for, our ego is subdued and kept in check.

Of course, we are not Jesus Christ and all these items have a way of finding a path back into our lives. This is why keeping our eye on Jesus Christ is imperative. Sinking becomes a real thing, lust comes rushing back and our tongue, once it is set free, well…we know what happens, we know how ugly it can get in a nano-second.

For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. ~Romans 8:5-8 NASB95

A life lived in Christ, even the worst day, is far superior to a life lived according the flesh. Those who have smelled  the sulfur of hell know this is the Truth. The life in Christ walking among Brothers and Sisters makes this life a joy. Makes this life all the sweeter. It has been said by someone we have not met, “Jesus lives in the pain.” If we can wrap our heads around that reality we have a chance. If can accept that Truth the sulfur of hell will evaporate into the ether and death will forever evade us.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
