Freely Receive…Love

Freely Receive…Love

When the devil beings speaking and says something like…”You’re a terrible ________” or “What a moron.” or “You’re an addict.” When we hear something to this effect, we tend to agree with it. We might even go so far as to respond with something like…”Yes. yes I am an addict. Watch this.” We happily agree, then begin drinking heavily, doing drugs, eat too much, staying at the office or simply lust with our eyes. Whatever the case is, we agree then we act. It may be a day, a week, a month or sometime in the future, but, as Jesus pointed out, whatever is in our mind, infiltrates the heart and makes manifest in our hand. All in due time.

Why do we not accept the love of God? Why when we hear God speak and tells us “You are my perfect child.” or “What a wonderful soul I have created in you.” or “You are beautiful.” We always argue against it. We reject it and, usually, say something like – “that’s not true.” or “Are you talking about me?”

What kind of world would it be if we freely accepted the love of God? What kind of world would it be if we freely acknowledged the atonement for our lives in the cross? What kind of world would it be if sought the Kingdom of God first before we spoke, before we stood up, sat down or, especially, before we opened our mouth?

Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. ~Ephesians 4:1-6 NASB95

Father God, we seek Your kindness. We ask Your grace and thank You for the mercies made new every morning. We ask, Father God, to bind our mind to the Mind of Christ. We ask, Father God, to bind Your will to ours so that we may walk in Your Light, that we may move in Your ways and that Your work be done using our hands. Let the Light of Jesus Christ’ glory shine through us and radiate in those around us.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
