The Past Becomes Strength…

The Past Becomes Strength…

Raise your hand if you believe you have been forgiven in Jesus Christ. Great. Now that we have been forgiven what do we do with those sins? How do they impact our future…or did they simply get put in a trunk somewhere for safekeeping, thrown in a trash bin or something altogether different?

What if our past failures, our past sins and our brokenness becomes our greatest strength? What if we were to walk in our identity as a broken person, forgiven in Jesus Christ, to bring others to Christ? What if we did that? What if our transgressions were the very thing that brought others to Jesus Christ? What if the fear that gripped our lives for all those years were the very thing that drew others to Jesus?

Everyone who is called by My name,
Whom I have created for My glory;
I have formed him, yes, I have made him.”
Bring out the blind people who have eyes,
And the deaf who have ears.
Let all the nations be gathered together,
And let the people be assembled. Who among them can declare this,
And show us former things?
Let them bring out their witnesses, that they may be justified;
Or let them hear and say, “It is truth.” ~Isiah 43:7-9 NKJB

When God, our Father, is speaking to Isiah God does not qualify His responses. God clearly states “Everyone“. God does not say…well this group and that group and maybe some those over there… Those that are saved, forgiven, in Jesus Christ, are called to be a witness. We have been given eyes to see and ears to hear – do you believe this or not? We are called to bring forth our testimony, to others in our life, to be witnesses to them, not Sunday morning but Monday through Saturday. Do you believe this or not?

The problem is far too few people believe the Holy Bible. Far too few people read, breathe in, walk in and believe in their bones the Living Word of the Holy Bible. We don’t share it, which is our biggest challenge, we don’t show it, another of our challenges…remember “faith without works is dead” so how do we “show us former things“?

For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
For you shall go out with joy,
And be led out with peace;
The mountains and the hills
Shall break forth into singing before you,
And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
~Isiah 55:10-12 NKJB

Isiah uses words like “bring forth”, “accomplish” “prosper” “shall go” “be led” “break forth” even, “clap their hands” all of these words, phrases are action words, verbs if you will. These words are of someone sitting in a church listening to someone speak, but of people that are on the move, on the go, taking, doing and accomplishing what has been told to them. Either we believe, and do, or we don’t.

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
