Aligning Ourselves To God…

Aligning Ourselves To God…

Experience is what teaches us. Gaining knowledge through study, reading and observing are awesome, but only for so much, we must – must – experience situations in order to learn, in order to advance our true knowledge base.

If you’ve ever been completely broke, no money at all, no food in the cupboard and nothing coming in it’s a good possibly there was an experience with a major lesson involved. This is where our faith is born. We don’t learn faith by sitting in a seat and listening to someone explain faith, we learn faith through our experience with the Living, Breathing Word of God. We learn faith by relying upon Jesus Christ for all our needs. We walk in faith, not by sight, when the cupboard is empty, our wallet is empty and there are no prospects on the horizon but somehow we are given a flight to Houston, Tx to spend a week playing golf and dining in luxury restaurants, that experience can have a deep, profound impact on one’s faith. The humility required to accept such a lavish gift is more than can ever be described.

When the Lord calls us by our true identity in Him we should act without hesitation.

But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob,
And He who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name;
You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you. ~ Isiah 43:1-2 NKJB

With ears to hear, God calls us by name. He identifies us as His own. He, God, is with us guiding us through the disasters in our life. Teaching us to look for the beauty in every situation. Look for His beauty, the beauty that He created to teach us to live more abundantly in each tragedy. If we don’t lose all our money how can we rely upon God? If we don’t hit rock bottom in situations how will we ever find the beauty in tragedy? Rejoice in every situation for the Lord is there with us. Jesus Christ is there to heal our brokenness and the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, is there to comfort and counsel us through each step of the day. What is there to be fearful?

Either the Gospel is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
