Unifying Spirit…

Unifying Spirit…

We are all children of God. Most, if not all, of the people reading those words have heard them before, possibly, a great many times before. If we are all children of God, all brothers and sisters in Christ there must be a common denominator. Yes there is. The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God is found in each one of us. All we have to do is tap into it and the Spirit will bring us all together in the Spirit of Christ.

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. ~Ephesians 4:4-6 KJB

We sometimes forget that the enemy plants seeds in our eyes, in our path and words coming from other people that knock us off course. The devil is looking for a crack, a seam, a tiny entrance to get us to think of his ways instead of thinking with the mind of Christ, remaining in the Light and walking the Way of our Lord, Jesus Christ. The devil rarely makes a dramatic entrance into our day, it is usually some small insignificant thing and all the sudden we are ten miles from where we stand, lost in a tangled wilderness of darkness, anger, pride, lust and the list goes on and on.

We have the tools to break out of this wilderness and return to Light. Jesus does not hold it against us and does not keep track of the times we lose our way. If we are able to see another face, another soul or another person as our brother, sister or broken soul that needs help finding his way back, we can break free immediately.

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. ~Ephesians 4:1-3 KJB

Are you a prisoner of the Lord? Has your heart been captured; is your mind being retuned on an hourly, daily, weekly basis? We are to grow in Christ. We are either growing in Christ or we are turning away from Christ – we are not standing still as the enemy will not allow that to happen. The devil, the enemy, is always looking for a crack. The devil is prowling in this moment, this moment, this moment and in every moment we are of this world. We must see our brothers and sisters in Christ as our allies, the other parts of the body. We are all here to do our part, we are here to prepare the soil, (our heart and mind) to receive the seed (the Living, Breathing Word of God) so that we may be better servants to Him and His children.

We must be better stewards of our heart and mind to keep them clean, keep them open and always seeking the mind of Christ. When we walk in the mind of Christ the devil has no room to enter. When we are focused on Christ’s vision, we see this world through His eyes, not ours. When we love with Jesus’ heart we love the people around us. We may not do it perfectly but as we continue ro practice, continue to study and continue to allow the Holy Spirit to guide and direct us towards our brothers and sisters we will be moving closer and closer to God. We will not be standing still nor will we be moving away.

Either the Gospel is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
