Starting A Movement…

How many people does it take to start a movement that changes everything? How many people is God looking for to create change in our world? How many people does it take to stop the devil from spreading deception and accusation?

The answer is well known – one. That’s how many it takes – one person. It is always one person. It is always one person that says “This way is no longer working and we must get back to our roots and our roots are found in God.” Throughout all of history this is exactly what has happened and this is exactly the reason for massive, community wide, region wide and world wide change. One person stands up, states the obvious out loud to God and someone else hears it and they join together and so on and so on and so on until one day it becomes clear that all these people are starting a movement that can not, and will not, be denied.

We need more disciples in our world today. We need disciples in a great many communities around the country. A disciple is someone that is disciplined in their faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. We need people that are either highly disciplined in this Truth or that are diving deeper and deeper into this Truth of God.

The word “disciple” keeps growing within and the reality of this word is so beautiful and so lacking in our world it is amazing. People hear that word and believe – believe – that it actually means someone else and not themselves. Their minds eye paints a picture of a small group of men or perhaps two/three men, walking around the desert. They never put themselves in the image because they see it as being someone else and never them. Always someone else.

And He called the twelve to Himself, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits. He commanded them to take nothing for the journey except a staff—no bag, no bread, no copper in their money belts— but to wear sandals, and not to put on two tunics. ~Mark 6:7-9 NKJB

It seems most of us go around filled with fear that we can not start a movement and gather the people to move with us as we do not have the words to speak. This fear comes directly from the devil. The devil tells us that we know not of what we are speaking. but it is written that we do not need to know what to speak for Jesus Christ, Emmanuel will send the Holy Spirit to speak for us at the exact moment when it is needed.

This has been experienced on two different occasions. When we seek, ask and knock the door is opened just as Jesus tells us it will be. Not my words but the very Words of Jesus Christ, Emmanuel.

But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. ~Matthew 10:19-20 NKJB

When do we develop the discipline to be a disciple of Jesus Christ, Emmanuel? How long should we wait before we begin our walk, in earnest, with the Truth, the Way and the Life? You are the person Jesus Christ is calling. Answer, pray and follow.

Either the Gospel is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
