Understand With Their Heart…

Isiah has been described as “the beautiful poet Prophet”. Having read some, not all, of the Prophecies of Isiah it is understandable why someone would use this description.

How do we open our eyes and unclog our ears? We need to see and hear what Jesus Christ is doing and saying, for this is how we begin to draw nearer to Him and more perfectly align our lives with His teachings.

There seems to be a darkness overcoming our world. There are rays of Light piercing the darkness that we need to help spread. We need to open our eyes, open our ears and allow the Light to flood into us and radiate in those around us. We can only do this by living in the Light, having the Light shine through our actions and words and speaking boldly into the dark. Sitting in a church or going to an event with other Christians is not going to create the space needed. It is not going to put us in contact with those we need to be around – societies leapers. Until we are ready to embrace ‘societal leapers’ we will be as blind and deaf as Isiah described in Acts.

And when they did not agree with one another, they began leaving after Paul had spoken one parting word, “The Holy Spirit rightly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to your fathers, saying,

‘Go to this people and say,
“You will keep on hearing, but will not understand;
And you will keep on seeing, but will not perceive;
For the heart of this people has become dull,
And with their ears they scarcely hear,
And they have closed their eyes;
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
And hear with their ears,
And understand with their heart and return,
And I would heal them.” ’

Therefore let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will also listen.” ~ Book of Acts 28:25-28 NASB95

We need to soften our heart and open our mind to allow God to invade our soul, then we will be able to see and hear what Jesus Christ has to say and what He has done.

Either the Gospel is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
