Diversity Equals Division Which Means Loss of Identity

Diversity Equals Division Which Means Loss of Identity by Randolph Jason for Gospel News Network

The author of an article covering the Southern Baptist Convention ask a simple question that has a simple answer. The author seems to think the answer is a complicated grouping of graphs, pictures and descriptions of a variety of groups that reside within the SBC. The author is pushing the same agenda as all the others that “make big art instead of good art”.

A snap shot of the article in question

Who are Southern Baptists?

The demographics of the Southern Baptist Convention shed some light on why the denomination has been unable to keep young people or recruit new members. In 2008, about 80% of Southern Baptists reported their race as white and non-Hispanic. All other racial groups made up the rest, with 13% indicating that they were African American.

For the past decade there has been a massive attack against the citizens of North America and across Northern Europe and the British Isles. This attack has not seen one shot fired, not one bombing raid nor gun ships en masse storming the beaches. No, that hasn’t been necessary. The latest attacks have come from within. These attacks, which have been orchestrated by corporate media and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO’s), have painted a picture of racism, division and hatred on a scale never before seen.

First Question

Why are these attacks only happening in predominately white nations? Has anyone stopped to ask – are there too many Chinese in China? What about Mexico, are there too many Mexicans? What about Japan, Russia or India – too many people of a certain ethnic group in any of these countries? Asking for a friend. Has anyone ever stopped and considered this question? Why are there too many white people in North America, the British Isles and Northern Europe? Why is this a problem for these select land masses while other land masses are ignoring diversity completely and some of these countries out right reject changing their ethnic heritage to accommodate a tiny group of hate-filled, satanic globalist. You will not see a massive influx of any ethnic group into Mexico, China, Russia, Hungary, Poland, Japan or India. Why? Because they hate other people? No. Because they love their history, heritage and their people.

When there is a conversation, for example, with a Mexican person, is that person referred to as a Zacateas-Mexican? Probably not. What about a person from China? Are they referred as their Province of origin, like Qinghai-Chinese? Of course not. Why? Because it’s not a thing. Only the people that want to sew seeds of division and hatred instilled this idea of African-American, Italian-American, This-American, That-American. We should refer to ourselves as American-Americans and nothing else. Either we are Americans first or we are not. If we are not, then we belong to a sub-group of America and our loyalties are divided – we are double-minded.

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth. ~Matthew 6:24 NASB95

The red letters above might tell-the-tale of being This-American or That-American instead of being an American-American.

If black American churches want to join, or any other ethnic group, wants to join the SBC they can join. Black Americans are 13.4 % of the population of the United States and black American churches in the SBC are as follows

Dominant Ethnic Composition Churches Congregations*
Anglo churches 38,652 39,909
African American churches 3,366 3,902

Looks a little under the 13.4 % but pretty close. A fair representation of the black American churches in the U.S. – a far cry from the shuttering of black American churches some would have a people believe.

Second Question

What is the point of screaming “diversity” and making it the only subject, other than racism which is just a way of shaming people into diversity, what is the point of diversity?

If you are a member of club, let’s say a women’s club, made up of white, hispanic, black and asian women, that focuses on neighborhood planning. This club has been around for the past 75 years and it has always been a women’s group. What would be the point of forcing this group to accept men or giraffe’s or space aliens? Identity. The absolute destruction of identity. If a group of exclusively women have been meeting for 75 years and introducing acceptable planning options for a community, why would anyone stand up and say the group had too many women and not enough men or giraffe’s or space aliens and should be forced to accept men and giraffe’s and space aliens into their group? Would this not be an attack on the identity of this group? Would this not completely destroy this group from the inside out?

Third Question

Why is it important to strip away the identity of some while building up the identity of others? Who decided our identity needed adjusting? It’s called “identity politics” for a reason. Let’s look at one of the possible reasons for this.

What happens when we so easily give up our identity? Shouldn’t we be 100% grounded in who we are, what we are and to whom we report? Why are these so easily handed over to someone that we don’t even know and someone that cares not for us or our well being?

There is a lesson from which we can learn about identity and having someone attempt to force Him to give up His identity for no good reason…

And the tempter came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’ ” ~Matthew 4:3-4 NASB95

Jesus did not give up His identity as the Son of God, instead Jesus spoke truth to lies. When do we begin doing the same?

Since that didn’t work, the devil tried a little harder and raises the stakes. Is this not what we see everyday? When one tactic doesn’t work, a second, a third, a fourth is employed…

Then the devil *took Him into the holy city and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and *said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written,
He will command His angels concerning You’;
and
‘On their hands they will bear You up,
So that You will not strike Your foot against a stone.’ ”
Jesus said to him, “On the other hand, it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’ ” ~Matthew 4:5-7 NASB95

With the final push the devil strikes at the very heart. Goes for the one thing that is the weakest link in most humans identity – their ego, their pride, their wallet.

Again, the devil *took Him to a very high mountain and *showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory; and he said to Him, “All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus *said to him, “Go, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.’ ” ~Matthew 4:8-10 NASB95

Where is our fortitude, what rock do we stand upon? Whom is our leader, who do we worship and who are we?

The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) just concluded on Wednesday June 16, 2021. By the grace of God a couple of us from our church were able to attend. It was an amazing setting, an awe inspiriting convention. A couple of people on the stage, talking to upwards of 17,000 people or more, ask this simple question on a number of occasions – “who are we?” Looking back these people all made it sound like the SBC has lost it’s identity. Maybe it has. Maybe it was handed over when the devil simply ask for it. Maybe there was no fortitude within, maybe there was no Rock to stand upon. Whatever the case, those asking seem to think the SBC has lost it’s identity.

For the past 176 years the SBC has known exactly who they are. The question of membership was never on the table. The question regarding who could join was never on the table. If any ethnic group wanted to join they were welcomed with open arms. REPEAT – any church, regardless of ethnicity, is welcome to join the Southern Baptist Convention as long as they operate within the guidelines of the organization. People of God who follow Jesus Christ are like that. If you follow Jesus Christ and shut the door on someone, you are not following Jesus Christ. A Christians true identity is in Christ Jesus and not an organization. The color of someone’s skin has never been, to my knowledge, a road block to joining the SBC. The organization, any organization, is merely a reflection of the members. If the members hearts belong to Jesus Christ, well, then anyone who wants to join can join, period.

It is only the loud voice of the devil that wants to make it sound like this ethnic group or that ethnic group are not welcome to join the SBC. This is not true and was made abundantly clear at this years SBC meeting. The SBC has been made up primarily of white people because the United States has been overwhelmingly white for most of it’s history. The only reason there is a separation of churches is because of the way that people worship. It is no secret that people come to worship in completely different ways. Same Jesus Christ, different approaches to worship. Nothing wrong with any method, but we all have our way of approaching the Son of God. The same Word, Breath and Living God, sang in a different way, spoken in all tongues and different volumes used when preaching. If a church is following the Holy Bible in all aspects and it’s not trying to reshape the Living Word, why wouldn’t they be welcome? If we allow people to reinterpret the Holy Bible then we lose who we are. We become some watered down version of who we are before Christ and that sounds a lot like the devil at work to me.

Maybe we should review the scripture above and follow how Jesus Christ handled the situation when the devil himself tempted our Lord and Savior to question His identity. Jesus did not say something like, well, if we only had a government sponsored focus group to filter my response the response would be made clearer. No, Jesus had nothing to do with anything other than what His Father, our Father, says about our identity in Him. If you believe the inerrant Word of God in the Holy Bible, follow Jesus Christ and follow the rules of the SBC organization, I feel confident your church would be welcomed with open arms, regardless of the ethnic makeup of the church. You see, we are the Great Commission which is all about making disciples, spreading the Gospel and bringing new people to Christ. That’s what we do and that, to answer the question, is who we are.
