Being Chosen…

Being Chosen… by Randolph Jason for Gospel News Network

Fear will always attract what ever information is needed to legitimize it’s existence. ~Bill Johnson

We are chosen not because of our strengths but because of our weaknesses. We find our strength in Jesus Christ and He, not us, builds on our weakness until we are strong in Him.

Seeing the beauty of God in all aspects of life is what God is calling us to see. There is no tragedy, there is only change. There is no failure, there is only opportunity. When we begin to see with our heart and hear with our mind what is before us is not want for ourselves, but desire for the Lord. What is before us is understanding that Jesus lives in the pain. What is before us is dying means to live. What we perceive as loss is in fact a victory. What we believe is the worst day of our life is usually the greatest day of change in our life. When we see this “worst day” through the eyes of Jesus Christ, instead of the enemy, we see what He is teaching us. We hear what our heart is saying. We can only accomplish this through Jesus Christ. Jesus’ testimony, Jesus’ life shows us what we have inherited. Jesus’ life shows us what surrounds us, if we have eyes to see and ears to hear.

When a person is awakened in the middle of the night believing with every fiber of their being that they have in fact run down a person in their vehicle this is a tragic moment. Believing with all the life within that another life has been taken by someone else’s action, life becomes very dark, scary and shameful. When all the blood, the damage to the vehicle can be seen to the point of feeling it throughout the body, this is a loss that can be used, that should be used to change lives. Seeing the beauty of God in this situation is the challenge. Once this is turned against the enemy, what happens next is a years long venture promoting breakthrough from tragedy.

Don’t experience tragedy and then just sit there and let it haunt you. Use it against the enemy. Use it. Why build a life formed around the disappointment of loss when you could use it for the place of promotion for breakthrough. ~Bill Johnson

For almost four years moving to a new house was nothing more than a frustrating situation that was a constant struggle in futility. Looking everyday, calling agents, going to properties, putting offers on the table only to have everything turn to dust. This went on and on and on. Finally, it came to pass there had to be a decision made – continue or let it go. There was an alternative that took the entire four years to reach – what are we doing to lose and what are we doing to win? Finding reasons to win, seeking reasons to win and knowing the victory is won is how we cross the finish line in our broken down jalopy all used up from winning, winning, winning. When we give it all away, lay it at the feet of Jesus Christ we come to know the victory. This is where we need to find ourselves with every step, with every breath.

“Winning” doesn’t have anything to do with sports, worldly adventures or anything at all to do with our short visitation in this world. Winning has to do with us continually coming back to victory in Jesus Christ. The victory He won, not us. We just see it, know it is and live in that victory – that is winning. We don’t do it everyday, we don’t do it every week so we are constantly coming back to it. The longer we live in the victory of Christ, the more of His beauty that can be seen in the tragedies of life.
