The Greatest Tool…

The Greatest Tool…

Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”
So He said to them,When you pray, say:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us day by day our daily bread.
And forgive us our sins,
For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.” ~Luke 11:1-4 NKJB

Imagine having a tool that can, literally, change the world. A tool so powerful, so righteous that billions of lives are changed. A tool so powerful that thousands of people are transformed on a daily basis. A tool so powerful that it never goes bad, it never rust and is always with you – no need for a “shop” or “junk drawer” or tool rack. No, the only thing needed is willingness. The only needed is a desire to be driven by His will instead of our own selfish, self-centered, self-serving will.

What do we need to bring about “world peace”? You know, the thing everybody says they want. No more wars, no more crime, no more enemies at the gate – yeah, that thing. What if there were a tool that could transform hate into love? What if there were a tool, not magic,  but an actual tool that could stop a criminal in his tracks? Would you not want that tool? Would you not want to have that tool sitting at the ready at all times? Would not honor that tool as if it were from God?

Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.

Well, that’s exactly what these words say.  We have everything we need when we listen and when we obey. If heaven is as it proclaimed to be and Jesus Christ teaches us to pray in His will for heaven to be on earth, well, shouldn’t we be doing that all the time in order to manifest heaven on earth through God’s will not ours?

When do we begin to take these words seriously and begin acting upon them?

What do You want me to do? What do You want me to know?

Either the Gospel is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
