Laying It All Down…

Laying It All Down…

When do we finally “lay it at the foot of the Cross”? How does that happen? Deep seeded sadness, unseen scars that have yet to heal or pain that rarely provides a moments rest. Where do we “lay it down”? What Cross? Where does this Cross reside?

“However the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands, as the prophet says:
‘Heaven is My throne,
And earth is My footstool.
What house will you build for Me? says the Lord,
Or what is the place of My rest?
Has My hand not made all these things?’ ~Acts 7:48-50 NKJB

One to another. We “lay it down at the foot of the Cross” when we confess our sins one to another in the presence of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. God’s house is where one is at the moment.

With some of us it could be work, co-dependence, smoking, gambling, eating, infidelity, sugar, exercise, alcohol, drugs and the list goes on from there. Anything in our lives that are natural, normal functions, and some that are anything but natural or normal, that have been twisted into a blockade between us and God. The key to a successful life is a relationship with a Power greater than ourselves. A deity that walks with us, protects us and oversees our will and our life. That deity is Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
 ~Luke 4:18-19 NKJB

Either the Gospel is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
