In a speech opposing the Equality Act, which would force public schools to allow transgender “women” (biological males) to play on real girls’ sports teams and use their bathrooms and showers, House Rep. Greg Steube (R-Fla.) said that claiming a gender that does not match one’s natural anatomy is “gender confusion” and a “clear rejection of God’s good design.”
Prior to the bill’s passage – 224 to 206, with only 3 Republican votes – Rep. Steube said on the House floor on Feb. 25, “Whenever a nation’s laws no longer reflect the standards of God, that nation is in rebellion against Him and will inevitably bear the consequences.”

He started his speech by noting that, “unlike most speeches you’ll hear on the floor today, I am going to start with the truth,” and then proceeded to read Deuteronomy 22:5 from the Bible.
“A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the Lord your God detests anyone who does this,” said Steube.
