Throwing Off Inhibitions…

Matthew 9:37-38 should grab our attention and make the darkness tremble. We should have the strength to lay down our nets, follow and be more like Christ. It’s rare that we allow the strength of God to make this move in us. Imagine a world filled with laborers gathering in Jesus’ harvest fields? What would that world look like, how would it function?

Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” ~Matthew 9:35-38 NKJB

Who are these “laborers” Jesus is referring? Someone other the disciples or could it be the disciples He was addressing / sending?

Looking around at the food banks, homeless shelters, recovery houses and various other situations, you know, where the lepers gather and few, if any, disciples are in view. Plenty in the seats at “church” on Sunday, nowhere to be found on Monday.

If we intend for 2021 to be our breakout year it’s time to get busy. It’s time to awaken the vessel, ask for guidance and respond. Let His light shine through each of us. Let our broken vessels be the copy of the Gospel the multitudes see this year. Be best, be the Ambassador we are intended to be.

Either the Gospel is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
