Submit to God Comes First…

Submit to God Comes First…

Submit to God comes first, resist the devil comes second.

You can yell and scream at the devil all you want but if you’re not fully surrendered to Jesus you’re yelling has no power. ~Pastor, Bill Johnson, Bethel Church

Is this putting the cart before the horse – or said another way, putting the Crown before the Cross? We want the Power, we just forget where who provides the Power and how we walk in His Power. We must put Jesus Christ first, then entire the battle. We must humble ourselves before God in order to be saved.

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. ~James 4:7-8 NKJB

Most of us need small bite sized servings of everything in our lives, otherwise, our mouths get bigger than our stomachs and fully processing the nourishment, properly, gets lost in the eating. Jesus even explains that small bites is the way we should live.

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. 7And when you pray do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. ~Matthew 6:5-7 NKJB

Prayers, the key to “drawing near”, should be short, concise and address the current moment when the prayers are being said. Yes, there should be other times and situations that are part of prayer time, but the bulk of prayer should be focused on the moment at hand. Does this not keep Jesus Christ at the forefront of everything, in every situation, in every moment?

Either the Gospel is divine inspiration, the Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
