We Are Not Orphans…
Guilt of the past and fear of the future are very heavy shackles that weigh down the soul. Those who believe do not have to carry these shackles, nor have to be bothered with them – they can be left behind forever. We have to release ourselves into the arms of Our Father. If you want to be confronted with fear try releasing yourself into the arms of Freedom. The moment just before release may be the most fear any person will ever face. While it seems like the absolute loneliest we could possibly be, we are not orphans, we have not been left alone. He is there. Jesus Christ is smiling and awaiting our arrival.
“If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” ~John 14:15-18 NKJB
Not only is Jesus Christ with us, He sends us a Helper – the Holy Spirit. How can one be alone when there is another with them all the time? If you love the Lord with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your strength and all your soul and love your neighbor as yourself, well, these promises will pour like a never ending fountain into your life – to overflow.
Can we just walk away from these promises? Sure. We can use our strength when the devil shows up and never once rely upon Jesus Christ. Not sure why one would do that, but we do have free will.
Now is your chance to support Gospel News Network.
We love helping others and believe that’s one of the reasons we are chosen as Ambassadors of the Kingdom, to serve God’s children. We look to the Greatest Commandment as our Powering force.
Why wouldn’t we take Jesus Christ at His Word?
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. ~John 14:12-14 NKJB
Fear is our greatest enemy. We have to surrender to Jesus Christ and allow His strength to fill us – rebuke all that is not from His hand, His word, His voice, His love. His living Word is the bread for my soul.
Either the Gospel is divine inspiration, the Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
