Freedom and Peace…

Freedom and Peace…

And when I’m breathing
I don’t understand
But I can fell it
Every waking moment
In your presence
This peace won’t let me go
There is freedom
Laying all my worries
At your feet again
Even in my struggle
I’m surrendering
Your peace won’t let me go ~Peace, Josh Baldwin

No matter who a person is, where they live or what they do, this is all most, if not all of us want in our life – freedom and peace. Boil it all down and that’s what we are seeking.

When we are little children we have it and as we grow our parents beat it out of us. “Conform to this…conform to that…” Rarely, and in some cases never, does the parent encourage their child to live in the peace of art, beauty and unworldly life. Of course there are boundaries and a narrow that should be followed, but delivering the message of being a Great Ambassador of the Kingdom of God is not part of what we do.

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

~1 John 3:1-3 NKJB

A child of God, that’s what we are. Is John attempting to teach us about seeking, asking and knocking in these few versus’? “The world does not know us…” we are strangers in a strange land, we are not home…why? “because it (the world) did not know Him.”

When we seek His face we are seeking the peace of God. In that time of seeking there is an unknown peace that can not be described. There is a freedom, a liberation, from this strange land where we are visiting and the unworldly Kingdom of God fills our space, fills our hearts and fills our “basket”. Why would we not want this all the day through?

“I have a job.” “I have a family.” I have a this…I have a that.” All true. We all have “things” potentially blocking us from God. Only because we allow them to block us from God. All of those “things” and a whole lot more are possible, and you know it, by falling into His loving arms we find freedom and peace.

Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.

~1 John 3:7 NKJB

Either the Gospel is divine inspiration, the Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
