Power and The Powerless…

Power and The Powerless…

What’s funny is when a person is completely engulfed in their sinful life they are under the misguided belief they are strong and powerful. We have a situation in our nation, right now, where a tiny group of people – really only about 50 total – are attempting to dictate to some 170,000,000 about how wrong they are and how the 50 know best. This is exactly how we act, as individuals, when are separated from God.

Looking in the mirror, one morning, we see a body builder at the height of their goal. The next morning, the sinful person, sees a shipwrecked mess with bodies strewn all around and life in tatters. At least for someone living with addiction and allowing the altered state of their being to “drive the train” instead of knowing that God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit await their arrival. Sometimes, all the time, God doesn’t wait, He simply allows the person to “run as many laps as possible” and then steps in to redirect their heart, soul, mind and strength towards God. Sometimes the answer is to simply come Home with the Father.

But concerning the dead, that they rise, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the burning bush passage, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living. You are therefore greatly mistaken.” ~Mark 12:26-27 NKJB

As our flesh is dying we lose sight of the Living God who has all the Power and who has loved us enough to bring our dry bones back to life. God wants us to live not walk around dead.

We have the capacity to accept this gracious gift and receive the Power of the Living God.

So the scribe said to Him, “Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth, for there is one God, and there is no other but He. And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
Now when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, He said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.”
But after that no one dared question Him. ~Mark 12:32-34 NKJB

The scribe, like the rest of us, have the capacity to own this Truth. The scribe CONFIRMED to Jesus Christ that he understood and that Jesus Christ was correct!!! Not condescending, not arrogant, just knowingly. The scribe, seemingly, was walking around in the full Power and Grace of Christ Jesus and didn’t realize what was happening in his life until he met the Savior. This is us. This is how we live. We have the Power, the Glory of God within us right now. When will we recognize and love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself? What are we doing with it? How are we reflecting glory to Glory?

What do You want me to know, Father? What do You want me to do?

Either the Gospel is divine inspiration, the Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
