Standing Up / Bowing Down…

When do we stand up for what’s right? When do we lay down our lives for what we believe? What would you give your last breath for – your last breath?

What is this life? Who’s in charge around here?

Our nation, from coast-to-coast is in turmoil. Who wrote the script? Is there anyone entity we can look to for all this chaos, uprising and weirdness? Sexual perversion, riots and corruption being exposed on a scale most Americans would have never dreamed was happening. But it is happening.

God is still in charge, God is still sovereign and God still reigns over everything, everyone and every situation. It is His making, it is His script and it must come to bare for the joy to be known. How does He know we trust Him with everything? Who are we suppose to look out for and care for? Who needs and has grace offered to them by His Word? Who can be redeemed, through mercy, to awaken to a peace unknown?

Now the apostles and elders came together to consider this matter. And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them: “Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us, and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. ~Acts 15:6:9 NKJB

That sounds pretty clear – Men and brethren – that sounds like everybody. We need to do our part. We need ACT like Christians, people that FOLLOW Christ, people that have been anointed by the Holy Spirit and people that walk by faith not by sight. When does that begin? When do Christians stop turning people off from Christianity because of the way they act, the way they talk and all the other messages they convey to the world?

Guilty as charged, I am no saint and most days do a terrible job of carrying the message, spreading the Gospel and converting gentiles to Christians. This must stop and I must begin seeking God’s will for my life throughout each and everyday. His Word is the only Word that matters. His will must be sought, and acted upon.

Either the Gospel is divine inspiration, the Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
