He First Loved Us…

He First Loved Us…

Who is kind, who loved us first and only wants the best for us. That doesn’t mean that life will be a bowl of marshmallows and ambrosia, no it means that He loves us and we are to depend upon Him for all.

Recently, there was a podcast where the host explained that if you wanted to know if Jesus was real you had to follow Him. Well, not too many of us actually follow His Word, follow His actions nor do we even respond when He speaks directly to us. But yet people say that Jesus Christ, God and the Holy Spirit aren’t real, nothing more an “imaginary friend”. Follow Him and let me know how that works out for you.

When we turn our will and our life over to the care of God, everything changes. When we leave the “results committee” and simply do what we are told, life begins to unfold in ways never imagined, never thought of and never ever believing that a “wretch like me” could experience something so beautiful.

It’s all right there in the Holy Bible. The directions, the path, the Word…when do we love our Father in the same manner He first loved us?

And when Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.” ~Acts 12:11 NKJV

While Peter is standing there, freed from prison having chains on both arms and surrounded by guards, the Lord lifted him out of his bondage only to be greeted by the very people that were just described above – people who question instead of responding, people who scoff instead of acting and people who claim knowledge from a point of absolute ignorance.

But they said to her, “You are beside yourself!” Yet she kept insisting that it was so. So they said, “It is his angel.”
Now Peter continued knocking; and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonished. But motioning to them with his hand to keep silent, he declared to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, “Go, tell these things to James and to the brethren.” And he departed and went to another place. ~Acts 12:14-17 NKJV

If you want to know if Jesus Christ is real, well, do precisely as He ask.

Either the Gospel is divine inspiration, the Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
