The Poison of Anger…
Anger is one of those emotions that most “normal” people deal with properly. With so few “normal” people around it’s probably no wonder that most of us are unfamiliar with how to deal with anger in a healthy way. It is one of those emotions the enemy is well versed in using to his pleasure and our destruction. Anger can fester like an illness while eating away at our Spirit, wreaking havoc in our mind and hardening our heart.
If we were to live, we had to be free of anger. The grouch and the brainstorm were not for us. They may be the dubious luxury of normal men, but for alcoholics these things are poison. Source
These are the times our eyes must be focused on Jesus Christ. Stopping our activities, breathing in His love, and rebuking in the name of Jesus Christ, all that is in our heart, keeping us from the Holy Spirit and all that is in our mind that are not of His making.
For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. ~Titus 3:3-7 NKJV
