Walking In The Gifts…

Walking In The Gifts…

When do we begin walking in the full power of the Holy Spirit? Our Father in Heaven anoints us in the Holy Spirit and we are to walk hand-in-hand while His great power fills us from head-to-toe. Then what?

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. ~Ephesians 4:11-16 NKJB

Again, when do we begin walking in the gifts, sharing these gifts and doing our part to glorify God, His kingdom and His children? There is no mention of a ceremony, a “baton” being handed off or an initiation period.

Stephen, in the Book of Acts, was chosen to serve with the Apostles for one reason – he was a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit (Acts 6:5). How did the multitudes know this? By Stephen living his life in and for Christ Jesus. Stephen was walking in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and people around him were experiencing a change when Stephen came around. When Peter and John were introduced to Stephen “they had prayed, they laid hands on them“(Acts 6:6). That was all that happened. It was sealed. “And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people.” (Acts 6:8) Stephen is now living in his gifts and is taking each step in the full power of the Holy Spirit, each breath is with the Holy Spirit and every fiber of his being is for the Holy Spirit. When do we begin walking in our gifts?

Either the Scripture is the divine Word of God teaching us how to live and how to be a reflection of Him, or it’s nothing more than a historical account of events.
