Chosen To Be…

Chosen To Be…

When do we accept our Lord as Savior? He, Our Father, predestined us before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love. [Ephesians 1:4]

When the Father breathed life into our lungs and we were born from our mothers womb were we born into corruption, impurity or a life outside of Christ? What happened along the way where sin – separation from God – clouded our heart, mind and soul? What about our vision?

19 Because of spiritual apathy, they surrender their lives to lewdness, impurity, and sexual obsession. [Ephesians 4, TPT]

These are but a few of the millions upon millions of ways the enemy attacks us and convinces us the lies are truth. Our lives change only when we begin to ask, seek and knock we then see the lies begin to fall away. As we draw nearer to God the Holy Spirit reenters our heart and as we stretch out our hand He takes hold and draws us near.

Standing before men telling them you love them is one way of getting their attention. Since they don’t know who you are does it mean anything – what is their take on this scenario? When speaking into upwards of 325 men one would never know what they think. It is not important. What is important is going before our Father and announcing to His children our love for them. One would rarely, if ever, do this if they were separated from God or said another way, living in sin. It wouldn’t be important and probably not even a thought.

Being born of the Spirit we are made a new creature, our rebirth, second birth or being born-again opens doors to Jesus Christ that were otherwise, not closed, but likely unseen. This changes when Jesus comes down, we rest in His love for us and accept Him as our Lord and Savior. As our new identity in Christ Jesus is revealed we begin to see the world anew. We see our friends and family in a different Light. We see ourselves in a different Light and we see the Light shining brighter and brighter through our hearts.

Ephesians 4 NKJV

21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:
22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,
23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
25 Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another.

If we believe in our heart-of-hearts that we have been made a new man created according to God, we should embrace that knowledge and beg for that identity to be revealed.
