Learning To Leave Sin Behind…

Learning To Leave Sin Behind…

Can we leave sin behind? With sin being defined as a separation from God is it possible to clean up our lives to the point of remaining close to God with every step, every action and every breath?

What happens when we become a “new creature” after being baptized in the Holy Spirit? At the moment we arise from the water do we have a new identity? Does a new identity come later or ever? When Jesus first encountered Simon, Jesus changed his name to Peter / Petras. When Sal met God, on the road to Damascus, God changed his name from Sal to Paul. Both are examples of “new creatures” to the point of having a new identity – a new name. When this happened did they leave sin (separation from God) behind or did they continue, at times, to sin? Were the accounts of their sins, after their rebirth, accounted?

Most everyone is familiar with Peter denying Christ three times before the rooster crowed, but are there other times when these two men, children of God, sinned?

Can we achieve this level of a Godly relationship? Can our lives be transformed to such a degree that our heart, mind and soul are 100% dedicated to Christ Jesus?

Faith in Christ Jesus carries forward and brings us closer to God. Our commitment to Jesus and His teachings are what others see. What do we want them to see?

Romans 3 CSB

23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God;
24 they are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
25 God presented him as the mercy seat by his blood, through faith, to demonstrate his righteousness,
because in his restraint God passed over the sins previously committed.
26 God presented him to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so that he would be just and justify the one who has faith in Jesus.
